Stalls

Stalls with the EquiTerr System have been in use for nearly thirty years working as well as they did when just installed. Laid on a bed of coarse gravel and filled with fine limestone chips, the interlocking honeycomb EquiTerr structure creates a multi layered drainage system that allows urine to drain from the surface, keeping your horse dry and clean in his stall. With this rapid drainage system, you will have less wet bedding to remove and less waste to dispose of. Even if you don't factor in the time you'll save cleaning stalls, the money you will save on bedding will pay for the EquiTerr. Unlike stall mats, EquiTerr becomes a permanent part of your structure, requires no maintenance and will never need to be replaced.

There is no need to worry about horses damaging the EquiTerr. When installed on the gravel bed, EquiTerr is capable of withstanding loads up to 100,000 lbs per sq. ft. Your horse can paw or pace in his stall with no effect on the EquiTerr. Unlike rubber mats, EquiTerr does not distort or pull up. Since EquiTerr is the component that supports the horse's weight, the gravel drainage layers are never compacted and, as a result, drain as well after thirty years of use as they do the first day.

A level stall floor for your horse to stand and lie down on is vital to your horse's health. EquiTerr is used both in veterinarian clinics and in stalls for their own horses. Providing good footing for your horse is important!

Your horse never walks through dirt or lime dust in an EquiTerr stall so your barn remains relatively dust free. Unlike stall mats, which eventually separate, curl and harbor bacteria on the underside, EquiTerr remains permanently level and dry. Once the manure is picked the stall will be odor free, making spraying for flies generally unnecessary.

The versatility of EquiTerr makes it unique. While it has been primarily used in interior horse stalls, it is equally well suited for outside stalls. The EquiTerr structure holds the gravel in place so that rainwater and soil erosion are never a concern. The permanently level stall floor's efficient draining system prevents pooling of water and mud. You can see our outdoor EquiTerr stalls at John Lyon’s Training Center, Three Acres Ranch.

Although EquiTerr is used primarily in horse stalls, it works equally well for cattle, llamas, sheep, goats, and in dog kennels.

EquiTerr is molded of environmentally safe, recycled low density polyethylene plastic.
